I was really fascinated by Franklin Booth when my intro to illustration teacher showed our class his work. We started doing ink work and cross hatching, Franklin Booth is the master. Apparently, he grew up on a farm and drew a lot from prints which he didn't realize were wood cuts, so he would copy the linear patterns of the woodcuts and it became a part of his drawing style.
